Misconceptions About AI—and Why Businesses Are Embracing It
I have been receiving hateful comments and bullying because of the use of AI technology for my business. I decided it is better to help educate people about AI technology and why businesses are embracing it, instead of retaliating and responding in a negative manner. I have had a long career in the technology industry, so I know and understand how people become afraid of the unknown, especially technology. It’s been said that technology and innovation will eventually completely replace humans. That’s completely impossible. Humans create technology. Technology need human instructions to carry out technological functions. The spread of misinformation and the fear of it can be detrimental. What’s scary to me is the people who believe this misinformation do not develop the necessary skills needed to work in technology positions. They are letting people who have no knowledge of technology dictate their future.
People have expressed concerns and issues with the AI digital art and images and digital character we are using in my business instead of using human graphic artists, character designers and animators. My recommendation for these professionals is to experiment and learn some of the AI tools currently available. I’m sure they will find the AI tools will further enhance their current skillset. You will be building on top of the skillset you currently have. There surely is an opportunity to merge the two.
Use your energy for something positive for yourself, not to bash and bully people because you don’t agree with a technology tool someone is using that you know nothing about. If you are afraid of becoming obsolete in your profession because of AI technology, you need to figure out how you can drive and help develop that technology because you have the skill that the technology will be replacing and enhancing. Remember, technology is developed, driven and maintained by humans.
